Junior Tennis

Sudbury Indoor Tennis Centre

Our Youth Tennis Programs

Sudbury's Junior Tennis Program is one of the largest and most efficiently organized

The Sudbury Tennis Club is home to a vibrant Junior Program designed for all levels of players between 4-16 years of age.

The program is aimed at developing sportsmanship, social skills, and teamwork fundamentals. Its success is undeniable, as the program continues to be the source of Provincial and National-level competitors.

The Junior program began in 1979, since then we've been fine tuning our lessons to make the most of court time. We have found having ample one-on-one time with a coach is important to development. We ensure there is one coach for every six kids in our programming to ensure every child is getting the tips and attention needed to shine.

We use a methodically designed progression system that helps juniors learn in an age-appropriate environment, and at a speed that keeps them engaged.

High-Performance Programming

For Sudbury's top performing junior tennis players

The Sudbury Tennis Centre's High Performance programming is designed to push our top performing players to this max. The goal of the High-Performance program is to prepare kids for tournament level play, promote physical fitness & proper diet, and encourage athleticism in all regards of tennis.

The High-Performance Program runs:
➤ Tuesdays from 4:00pm - 5:30pm
➤ Wednesdays from 4:30pm - 6:00pm
➤ Fridays from 4:30pm - 6:00pm

The Pre High-Performance Program runs:
➤ Mondays from 4:30pm - 6:00pm
➤ Thursdays from 4:30pm - 6:00pm

In all of our programming we separate and sort by skill levels, so whether your child is new to tennis or been playing all their life, they'll be improving!

The Sudbury Tennis Club is home to a vibrant Junior Program designed for all levels of players between 4-16 years of age.

We know kids will get bored after doing one thing for too long, so we ensure every lesson keeps things interesting with working on new skills and ending with some tennis based games

We don't want kids to ever stagnate in our tennis programming. We offer High-Performance classes that require skill assessments to join for the highest performing junior players at our club.

For younger kids looking to take tennis seriously and hoping to move into the High-Performance program we offer Pre High-Performance to help transition them into high level play.

We encourage parents to take their kids out to play tennis separate from just their lessons, for any child to show improvement they need to be practicing what they're learnt by playing.

Generally 1-2 hours per week minimum of playtime on top of programming/coaching is recommended.

Kids must be skill-assessed by our Head-Pro coach before being allowed to enter.
